Seehausen a. Staffelsee, December 22, 2008 - Weitkämper Technology launches its new HitEngine. This unique technology shortens the search process with its breathtaking speed.
The search suite uses its speed to initiate search while the terms are being typed, so that hitting the Return key to run a search is no longer required. Even word completions and categories are offered alongside the hits. 

From 0 to 1,000,000 in 0.01 Seconds
This radically new index structure garantees speed we have never seen before.  With superior technologies such as dynamic hitlist, suggestions, facetted navigation and linguistic analysis the HitEngine takes pole position against the competition.

The End of the Return Key
The HitEngine is the result of cumulative know-how from 15 years of search experience. In speed the new index structure is miles ahead of regular search engines. By providing a list of choices as the letters are entered, it shortens the repetitive search process dramatically.

Convincing Technology

For a database containing 5 million product entries, about 700 completions and 20,000 hits for words starting with three letters are returned within 5 milliseconds. Considering these 700 words starting with three letters, this equals to 140,000 words per second.
The index size is very similar to conventional, well compressed inverted index structures. The indexing time for 1 millionen entries equals about 2 minutes 30 seconds.

The HitEngine combines its outstanding performance with numerous functions. Highlights include the individual ranking, the integration of synoyms, thesauri and linguistic analysis. The system has already impressed experts, and consequently has been named the "Password Product of the Year 2008".

The HitEngine can easily be integrated into almost any architecture via TCP/IP and is available for Windows and Linux.
