Relational taxonomies Besides supporting both structured and unstructured search, Autonomy parametric indexes can include a high-level classification concept called relational taxonomies. With relational taxonomies, users can simultaneously navigate more than one taxonomy (hierarchical classification structure), drilling down and navigating to the information they seek in the manner most intuitive to them. The use of relational taxonomies is appropriate in situations where a given document can simultaneously belong to different organizational structures. Because more than one taxonomy is applied to the set of documents, the user can move from one taxonomy to another while navigating to the desired category.
