By providing the result list while typing, our HitEngine is changing the user behavior and shortens the search process efficiently. Let's consider an average eCommerce application as an example: You are looking for the Eidos game "Tomb Raider" for the Nintendo Wii.

While typing the first letters "NIN", you will already get all results of entries containing words starting with "NIN". When you refine this search by typing "WII" and "TOMB" as next keywords the relevant hits will be on your screen. Categories for faceted navigation are also provided dynamically, so you can choose in these categories immediately the best price, a favorite seller etc.

Fuzzy Search

HitEngine integrates our successfull approximate search technology to offer hits even on misspelled words. It combines intelligent algorithms with linguistic resources into one unique technology. It maps language phonologically and generates the matching sound patterns for every word. Instead of only using mathematical approximations, terms of similar pronounciation are also returned. As a result, hits are concise and accurate.

Synonyms or thesauri can also be easily added.

Architecture

HitEngine supports 64 bit, multithreading, forking and intelligent caching. Indexing speed is about 15 MB per second.

Easy Integration

The HitEngine can be used »on top« almost any search engine or database system or standalone. Integration is easy and allows very fast implementation. Via an HTTP connection, all informations can be easily integrated using for example AJAX.
The HitEngine is available for Windows and Linux platforms.
